UTI, CTI and NSERC-Prairies host an Innovation Supports Workshop on May 7th

You are invited to attend an INNOVATION SUPPORTS WORKSHOP
In partnership with NSERC-Prairies, University Technologies International and Calgary Technologies Inc.

Learn about the programs and services available to help fill strategic gaps within the research, development and innovation areas of your business or research. This workshop will introduce you to eight program and service providers (see a list of these providers below).

Calgary Technologies Inc. (CTI) works with entrepreneurs to help them accelerate the success of their technology company, and looks for opportunities to help businesses make connections within the sector. Established in 1981 as a joint partnership with the City of Calgary, the Calgary Chamber of Commerce and the University of Calgary, CTI is a not-for-profit organization and offers a suite of programs, services and resources for business commercialization and incubation.  www.calgarytechnologies.com

NSERC’s Idea to Innovation (I2I) program aims to accelerate the pre-competitive development of promising technology and promotes its transfer to Canadian companies. This program supports research and development projects with recognized technology transfer potential by providing crucial assistance to college and university faculty members in the early stages of technology validation and market connection. The NRC Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) provides a range of both technical and business oriented advisory services along with potential financial support to growth-oriented Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises. Working directly with these clients, NRC-IRAP supports innovative research and development and commercialization of new products and services. The Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Program is a federal tax incentive program designed to encourage Canadian businesses of all sizes and in all sectors to conduct research and development (R&D) in Canada that will lead to new, improved, or technologically advanced products or processes. The SR&ED program is the largest single source of federal government support for industrial research and development.  www.cra-arc.gc.ca

Western Economic Diversification Canada’s (WD) mandate is to promote the development and diversification of the economy of Western Canada and advance the interests of the West in national economic policy. This mandate is delivered primarily through grants and contributions programs, which enable the department to contribute strongly to the productivity and competitiveness of the West. This is achieved through collaboration with partners including the private sector, other levels of government, academic and financial institutions, as well as research centres, to maximize investment in Western Canada and to create alternative sources of funding for commercial ventures.  www.wd.gc.ca
