  • Alberta Advanced Education and Technology - (AET) Alberta Advanced Education and Technology consolidates the Alberta government’s scientific research, development and application activities and is responsible for furthering the province’s innovation agenda.
  • Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research - (AHFMR) Supports medical and health research at Alberta universities, affiliated institutions and other medical and technology-related institutions. AHFMR supports UTI's biomedical technology commercialization intern program.
  • Alberta Ingenuity Fund - (AIF) Alberta Ingenuity’s mandate is to nurture the discovery of new knowledge and encourage its application to benefit Albertans. Their support of world-class research will also advance science and engineering internationally.
  • Alberta Research Council Inc. - (ARC) Promotes technology development and its application in the fields of Biotechnology, Energy, Environmental Technology, Forestry, Information Technology and Manufacturing.
  • Alberta Science and Research Authority - A division of the Alberta government, the Alberta Science and Research Authority stimulates research, development and related activities within Alberta. It also maintains an information data base on science and research organizations in the province.
  • Defence R&D Canada Suffield - Located in Medicine Hat, Alberta, DRDC Suffield is the major Canadian military research establishment in Western Canada.
  • iCORE - iCORE was established in October 1999 by the Government of Alberta to foster an expanding community of exceptional researchers in the field of informatics, that is, areas of computer science, electrical and computer engineering, physics, mathematics and other disciplines related to information and communications technology (ICT).
  • The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada - (NSERC)Supports basic university research through discovery grants helping to support make Canada a country of discoverers and innovators.
  • Western Economic Diversification - WD's mandate is to promote the development and diversification of the economy of Western Canada and to advance the interests of the West in national economic policy. WD fulfills its mandate through the innovation, economic development and business development.
